    LIGHTHOUSE

    DOCUMENTARY

    Synopsis

In 2018, at the peak of his career, Bliss from the Australian Hip Hop juggernaut ‘Bliss n Eso’ was thrown into a deep dark depression which almost destroyed his life, Career and those close to him.

This has become a breakthrough mental health documentary that uncovers some of the deep core problems we all choose to ignore and run away from.

“Ain’t nobody gonna save me but me.”

Now more than ever, depression is a massively prevalent issue worldwide.  It is the single leading cause of disability and is a major contributor to the disease burden globally. The worldwide prevalence of depression and depressive symptoms has been increasing in recent decades. The lifetime prevalence of depression ranges from 20% to 25% in women and 7% to 12% in men.

Commonly in this day and age if you are diagnosed with depression by a doctor you are prescribed medication as an attempted treatment.  However often this only serves as a mask for the symptoms and doesn’t address the underlying issues causing the problem.   This film delves deeper to look at individuals taking ownership of their given situation, finding their life purpose and implementing a holistic approach to achieve happiness.

    A little deeper

This film focuses on the song LIGHTHOUSE that Bliss wrote telling his story of what happened and then follows his path of how he learnt responsibility and completely changed his approach to life to ultimately pulled himself out of this darkness to achieve happiness.

To coincide with Bliss’ story the film interviews high achievers and celebrities from around the globe for the first time ever sharing their unheard stories of the dark times they have been through and what the did to get through them.

    A little more

This film follows Bliss’ story about how he went through a really bad break up which thrust him into a deep depression.  We follow the journey on exactly what that was like in detail and then the moment he broke his leg and was faced with a choice of what to do.  The story shows the wholistic approach to overall happiness and well being that he implemented in his life to pull him out of this dark place.  The film centres around the song LIGHTHOUSE which outlines the story of the his break up and being in a bad place and coming to the realisation that only Bliss himself has the power to save himself (Ain’t nobody gonna pull me out the sea but me”).  Bliss will interview a range of high profile influencers and sporting personalities to delve deeper into how mental health effects us all in different ways.
